  1. Seasoning

    Blending apples into your spice mix for your slow cooked ribs or grilled chicken, this adds a sweet sticky flavour.

  2. Miso Caramel Apple Pie

    Of course, you will find a pie or crumble on this list. For the filling peel, core, and slice 6 cooking apples. To the apples soak 70g of caster sugar, 70g brown sugar, 2 tsp of corn flour and ½ tsp of cinnamon and nutmeg and put to one side for 1 hour. For the caramel add 200g of sugar in a pan over a medium heat and cook until caramelized, it is import to not to mix the sugar in the process. Stir in a teaspoon of white miso paste.

    Assemble the fillings with pastry and finish with egg wash by lightly brushing the top crusts. Bake at 180C for 1 hour 15 minutes until golden and flaky.

3. Face Mask

Apples are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and copper which are skin friendly nutrition and glycolic acid great for exfoliating and pores.

Peel and blend your apples and add honey, which is antibacterial for the skin. Work the mask into the skin and leave in for 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

4. Apple Chutney

Blend together 5 apples, 1 cup of light brown sugar, 1 onion, 1 teaspoon of red wine vinegar and ½ a cup of sultanas. Season with pinch of sea salt and garlic purée. Serve with a charcuterie board or simply with good quality bread.

5. Apple Salad

Chopped apples in salad is great for a refreshing vibrant balance, adding a sweet, sour and crunchiness. Prepare this when you are ready to eat as the apples can brown quickly.
